Deutsch papers include the 1925 German language interviews related to his Ph. D. dissertation and culminates with later correspondence on a wide range of interests in the early 1990's. Research notes for all of his major works are represented as well as voluminous personal and professional correspondence with research subjects, academic colleagues, publishers, and distinguished American and European leaders. His writings on WWII German activities represent important contributions to American scholarship and comprise a significant portion of this collection. His secondary field of interest, American strategy, occupied the later portion of his activities and is also represented in the collection. His clippings, photocopied articles, collected reports, and conference notes on a vast range of other interests (current events, 1950-1980, i.e., Vietnam War, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and the Soviet Union) are also included.
